Just so know know this is something people with borderline personality disorder may do and this post is ableist. Sometime the person will accidentally kill themselves trying to get the other person to stay. They have an intense fear of abandonment. The more you know https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=to5qRLRSS7g
as someone with bpd, yes we do have an intense fear of abandonment, but if we do shit like this it is STILL TOXIC and STILL SHITTY. this post is absolutely not ableist. yes, seek help for the person in question immediatley but DON’T let them manipulate you like this. they need help, but you are not responsible for them and if anyone treats you like this (especially repetitively) you are in an abusive relationship. y'all are truly fucked up for making people think that they’re ableist for getting out of a toxic relationship.
I just…also as someone with bpd like… We still know, like… Right from wrong? Yeah, I have an intense fear of abandonment, yeah it is tempting to use self harm to regain that control, yeah I’ve done it when I was younger. Doesn’t make it less manipulative, or abusive. You are still using it as a tactic to try and control another person to the detriment of their health and safety.
Like, those who excuse this and actually defend it are just huge red flags to me.
Cool motive, still abuse.
YOU ARE NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR THEM 👏🏽 👏🏽 👏🏽
“Cool motive, still abuse”
Literally this. Part of the therapy of BPD is increasing your emotional intelligence so you can know when you are going to act out and also know your toxic behaviours.
Will 2019 be the year when people stop using “Latinx” instead of the already gender neutral Latinos? You know the gender neutral word that exists and can actually be used in its own actual language?
One day…
As a Latino who speaks Spanish I am so sick of people using “Latinix”. 95% of the time it’s used by white people who don’t speak Spanish. It is not your job to make a “gender neutral” word for us just because you don’t understand our language. Latina is for just women, Latino is for just men, Latinos is for BOTH. It is GENDER NUTERAL. Just like Abeula is grandma, Abuelo is grandpa, and Abuelos would be the gender-neutral term for grandparents.
(This is ok for non Latinos/Spanish speakers to reblog)
this is a dumb post because
1) the vast majority of people who want gender neutral spanish language are the people most affected by the constantly implied gender of spanish language, latinas and non binary latines
2) ”95% of the time it’s used by white people who don’t speak Spanish.” this was pulled out of thin air as it isnt even clear where the term latinx originated. i personally have yet to meet a white non-latine irl who gives enough of a shit about latine identity and grammar to even know of the term.
3) this is LITERALLY the biggest non-issue ever and yet you have this genius on here encouraging non-latines to reblog
4) I live in fucking Chile and people have been using “latinx” as well as other words with an “x” to neutralize their gendering SINCE FOREVER. Same as how before it used to be an “@” instead of an “x”. Which was DEFINITELY started in Latin America not because we were huge Radicals, but BECAUSE we were all too fucking lazy to type “niño/a” “estimados/estimadas” “amigo(a)”. I’ve literally seen this since I have internet access and actually maybe even earlier.
You all make this far more complicated and dumb than it needs to be.
I cannot stress how important it is to be intersectional about your feminism. listen to black women, listen to trans women, listen to disabled women, and please acknowledge the fact that there are different types of women who go through different types of struggles than you
Uh if your feminism includes transwomen it’s not feminism. It’s men’s rights activism.
turns this is claude giroux being very good at avoiding pucks and not, as i initially thought, claude giroux being VERY bad at stopping even just one of them
